Buddy Day

Saturday, May 5, 2007 East Coast Karate Institute held a Buddy Day! What a great time was had by all who attended. Students had the oppurtunity to teach their buddies what martial arts was all about. This was a great oppurtunity for those who came to see how much fun their friends have in class - all the while developing the great benefits that martial arts has to offer everyone!

In Loving Memory of Robert Massaroni
East Coast Karate Institute regrets to inform you that a Tang Soo Do Brother and friend was suddenly taken from us on Sunday May 6th, 2007 after completing the Broad Street Run in Philadelphia.Rob Massaroni was 29 years old, a school teacher in Bensalem PA, a chief instructor of Black Belt Academy, and was only a few months away from celebrating his 1 year wedding anniversary. He had also just successfully passed his Master's Belt test on March 31, 2007.
We ask that our karate family, both in Glen Mills and Newtown Square, keep Master Rob Massaroni's wife and family in your prayers!
Gone but not Forgotten ~ always in our hearts & memories - RIP
We love you Master Rob Massaroni!Tang Soo!

Black Belt Academy's Powerpoint Tribute to Master Massaroni

As I heard the horrible news today numbness runs through my mind and body. It was only a few short weeks ago that we shared a room together at the Masters clinic in Alabama. I had the opportunity to share Rob's mixture of emotion, a few hours before his Master's test. Rob, I would like you to know, that knowledge and wisdom is in your mind, heart, and soul. Tang Soo Do is who you are. You were a Master before you even tested. You had your masters belt all along, you just wore it on the inside, the belt is just material. I was glad to know you all these years as a friend and fellow martial artist. You treated ever day like a holiday and every meal like a feast, you live life to the fullest, not everyone can say that. It was an honor to train with you, an honor to watch you compete, an honor to be invited to your wedding. To Rob's wife Val, brother Chris, and his mom and dad my deepest regrets. we all loved Rob!!!! He was truly one of the good guys. I will always keep you in my heart and will never forget the times together. your friend, Master Michael DiPietro
